Hey, my name’s Oscar (he/him) and I’m super excited to be running for General Representative! I am a first year Law/PPE student and I’m eager to bring to ANUSA the fresh perspective of someone new to ANU. Like the rest of the Grassroots ticket, I’m passionate about student activism and strongly believe that student unions can have an impact on everyday university life. I’m proud to have built up volunteering experience in student leadership, Canberra’s Young Workers Centre, Greenpeace and Wright Hall’s residential committee. As Gen Rep, I would look to boost ANUSA’s presence so all students feel that our union hears our voices and will fight for our interests. To do this, I’ll be pursuing policies that engage people who wouldn’t normally get involved with the union, while making a direct and tangible improvement to university life.
